A Liverpool star has returned to pre-season looking like ‘Dominik Szoboszlai’s twin’ after undergoing a procedure that has made him unrecognisable.
Alexis Mac Allister is back in the building at Liverpool after the midfielder enjoyed an extended break after tasting defeat in the World Cup final with Argentina. Lionel Messi and co. suffered heartbreak in New York when Ferran Torres scored Spain’s winner to end their dream of defending the trophy.
But Mac Allister has returned with a big smile on his face and a new head of hair. The 27-year-old thought himself to be follically challenged and underwent a hair transplant procedure following Argentina’s tournament exit.

The time has come for him to re-join his Liverpool team-mates, and he did so in brilliant fashion as he wore a slicked-back ponytail wig and quipped that he looked like Szoboszlai, but in truth more Loris Karius.
Mac Allister rocked up wearing designer sunglasses and his dream hairstyle to Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre and posted a snap of his arrival on his Instagram page.
He hilariously added the caption: “Back in training. The implant took effect quickly, im just like you Dominik Szoboszlai.”
Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch were among his Liverpool team-mates to lap up his post, with the Dutch winger calling his look “beautiful”.
Mac Allister surprised Liverpool fans at the back half of the season when he shaved his head and sported a buzz cut for the first time in his career.
However, the midfielder admitted that it was likely a last roll of the dice before committing to surgery, as he said in March: “We’ll see if we can plant a bit more after the World Cup.
“Right now, time is a bit of a constraint. But I’m really happy, I feel like I’m better off than before. Let’s see if there’s a little sponsorship deal.”
Mac Allister will be beginning his preparation for the new Premier League season, but some fans are worried about his procedure and concerned that he might not be able to head the ball.
One fan slammed: “Great, our centre mid can’t head a ball for 2 months and the season starts in 24 days.” While a second added: “Nice so he can’t head the ball for the next few months which was one of the only things he still had going for him.”
