A Manchester United star has enlisted the help of a stylist to help revamp his wardrobe as he aims to look less like a footballer and more like a nineties rapper
A Manchester United star will feel fresh ahead of the new season after stylist Sydney Luchies flew out to help overhaul his wardrobe.
Joshua Zirkzee has struggled to hold down a regular place in the United side since joining from Bologna in 2024. The 25-year-old only scored twice in 24 appearances last term and has been linked with a return to Italy this summer.
The Dutch forward has featured in pre-season for United, who take on Leeds in Dublin on Wednesday, and is one of the few centre-forwards in Michael Carrick’s side. It remains to be seen where the Netherlands international will spend the season but the striker has received a confidence boost off the pitch after flying a fashion assistant to the UK.

Sydney is a wardrobe stylist in the Netherlands and has documented her time working with Zirkzee on TikTok. She detailed their initial consultation and reasons for picking out pieces for Zirkzee, who wanted to “look like a rapper from the 90s”.
Documenting her process with Zirkzee in an earlier video, Luchies said: “I start by making a mood board. Once the mood board is approved, I start making the outfits and once the outfits are approved, I start to order everything and then it’s time for delivery.
“Joshua lives in Manchester, so this time we flew to England. Once I arrived, I started preparing all the outfits for the fitting and Joshua wanted to look like a rapper from the 90s – with his own touch. So, I think we did well.”
In a follow-up TikTok post shared last month, Luchies filmed herself clearing out Zirkzee’s sprawling wardrobe. Luchies organised any unwanted or unworn clothes into colour-co-ordinated piles, with the stylist planning to sell the high-end items and donate the rest to charity.
Filming her latest trip to the UK, Luchies said: “Come with me to do a closet clean for Joshua Zirkzee. Joshua asked if I could help him reorganise his closet, create a bit more space for new things, and make it all neat and organised.”
The stylist has previously worked with Burnley defender Quilindschy Hartman, who is currently on loan at Espanyol. She has also worked on photo shoots for PSV Eindhoven and collaborated with top brands such as Adidas, Puma and New Balance.
Countdown to Kickoff: The Essential 26/27 Sky Sports Bundle
Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle includes at least 215 live Premier League clashes across the 2026/27 season, with more than 1,500 games from the EFL and beyond, plus F1, golf and darts.
This introductory offer saves £384 compared to the standard price, with every package also providing 100 regular channels alongside free Netflix and discovery+ subscriptions.
Describing herself as an “all-round wardrobe stylist and creative”, Luchies writes on her website: “My love and passion for fashion and creating already started when I was a little girl and has never stopped developing, now I see creating outfits and concepts as a form of art and self-expression.
“My goal is to always follow the wishes of my customers, but with input from my own vision. The most beautiful thing there is, is creating things together on set. Whether it is for editorial styling, commercial styling or celebrity styling. I am always working on improving my work and strive for the best results in the field of photo and video.”
After overhauling his wardrobe, Zirkzee will also hope to change his fortunes on the pitch. United signed him for £36.5million but has yet to find his best form at Old Trafford.
