Peter Mossfield – the man behind the viral “BoozeBagFitness” Instagram account – has made his bizarre bodybuilding debut despite drinking heavily and never working out
A man who has gone viral for drinking heavily and taking steroids without ever setting foot in a gym has taken his bizarre “experiment” onto the bodybuilding stage. Peter Mossfield finished dead last on his debut after going out boozing and missing the final.
The creator of the @boozebagfitness account entered his first-ever competition at the NPC East Coast Mecca Classic in New York, USA, on Saturday (August 8).
He turned up for the morning pre-judging in the Men’s Classic Physique Open Class B – but later disappeared before the evening showdown. After prejudging, however, there were several hours before the evening finals.
Mossfield says he used that time to drink. He later claimed his alcohol tolerance had fallen because he had been drinking less during the final weeks of his bodybuilding prep.
According to Mossfield, he had averaged fewer than 12 drinks per day over the previous four weeks, Generation Iron reported. “I kinda lost track of time,” he admitted.
The results were brutal and he finished in eighth place in his bodybuilding debut.
Mossfield also suggested that failing to shave may have hurt his performance. “I didn’t expect to get disqualified that hard or docked that hard for it,” Mossfield said.
Despite his last-place finish – and missing the finals entirely – he still talked himself up afterwards. “In my mind, it was me or one other guy had the best package out there,” Mossfield said in his post-show video.
He previously built an online following by documenting extreme “wagers” and dares. This time, he claimed he was using anabolic steroids while avoiding the gym, and washing it all down with huge amounts of alcohol, as per Generation Iron.
His stunt was condemned as dangerously reckless by fitness and health experts. Now he claims the next phase is going “natural”.
“I’m a born again natural,” Mossfield joked. His goal is to determine whether he can maintain the muscle he gained while using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) by finally introducing resistance training.
“I’m excited to start lifting as a natty,” Mossfield said. But Mossfield appears to already be eyeing another left-field challenge – swapping posing trunks for combat sports.
Mossfield says he wants to begin MMA training, according to Generation Iron. Nevertheless, he has little interest in developing the endurance required for a prolonged fight.
Instead, he wants to train enough to be able to “knock someone out in the first round”.
