A number of allegations have been made against the inner working of the Beckham family in an alleged exposé.
Brand Beckham: The Fame. The Feuds. The Fallout by Alison Boshoff allegedly provides a detailed account of the family’s inner dynamics. The book claims Brooklyn, 27, wasn’t the only sibling to attempt to forge a career outside the shadow of the Beckham name.
Brooklyn effectively severed ties with parents David and Victoria, his siblings and the profitable family brand following the release of a scandalous six-page statement earlier this year. Since then the curiosity in the machinery behind the influential family has reached an all-time high. Here are the most explosive claims.
Victoria ‘sabotaged’ plans for Cruz to drop Beckham name
Cruz is currently several singles into a promising music career. However the Beckham’s decision to establish himself as the charismatic lead singer of indie band The Breakers came after the dismissal of his entire management team.
According to Boshoff, worried mum Victoria intervened when management firm TaP tried to distance the young musician from Brand Beckham and inevitable nepotism baby accusations. The team allegedly wanted Cruz to drop his surname and perform a series of gigs at “ordinary London pubs… to make his rise look more organic.”
The former Spice Girl’s subsequent choice to post footage of Cruz performing at film director mate Guy Ritchie’s pub contradicted their plans. This followed TaP “parting company” with Cruz “on friendly terms.” A source added: “The whole point was to distance him from being Posh Spice’s baby boy – she scuppered it.”
Cruz eventually kick-started his career again with the Breakers in October 2025. His parents David and Victoria promoted his music across their own massively followed social media channels as he geared up to release his first single, the double-A side Optics/For Your Love.
Victoria prevented Brooklyn from launching a fashion line
The book alleges that fashion designer Victoria, 52, also barred Brooklyn from using his own surname after he planned to launch a £3million clothing range with BoohooMan. Supposedly the move was to avoid the family’s name with the association with “fast fashion” – despite Victoria previously launching her own budget-friendly range with Target.
According to insiders, Victoria had a “change of heart” after initially agreeing to the use of his surname.
An insider told Boshoff: “It did get into a bit of the war with the brand.” They added: “And the deal then did not happen.”
Brooklyn “feels the pain” and is “so sad” about estrangement
Despite the discord, the US-based cooking influencer allegedly laments the absence of his immediate family, with friends claiming he feels the “pain of separation keenly” and is “so sad about it still.”
Actress wife Nicola Peltz, 31, is understood to be supportive of her husband maintaining a relationship with his immediate family. The book claims she will “never stop” him travelling to the UK for a potential reunion, despite being “over” the ongoing drama herself.
Nicola Peltz and Victoria are ‘very similar’
Victoria’s infamous wedding dance with Brooklyn is one of the most memorable moments from his six-page Instagram statement. But sources suggest there are clear similarities between the former Spice Girl and her daughter-in-law, Nicola.
According to the book, Brooklyn “married his mother” after tying the knot with Nicola at her family’s expansive Florida home in 2022. A source stated: “Nicola and Victoria are very similar people.”
Friends also claimed how Brooklyn was often naïve while dating and became easily “besotted” by girlfriends, among them influencer Hana Cross, long before his first encounter with Nicola.
It’s alleged that family members expressed concern over his tendency to be “absorbed” by whoever he is dating.
A supposed comment said: “If they like poodles, he likes poodles.”
Victoria had a ‘low status’ in The Spice Girls
Girl Power may well have been the ethos that catapulted them into global stardom, but female empowerment didn’t always extend to The Spice Girls’ attitudes towards each other, the new book claims.
Renowned for her Posh Spice persona, Victoria allegedly held a “low status in the band.” And was regularly mocked by her bandmates – particularly Scary Spice, Mel B.
After Geri Halliwell’s exit, the group ultimately pursued individual solo careers in 2000. But the financial appeal of The Spice Girls brand led to a fraught reunion in 2007, during which Geri “annoyed everyone.”
Victoria subsequently revealed The Spice Girls’ publicist once instructed her to claim her iconic black tube dresses were bought at Gucci – “even though they were from Miss Selfridge”
