And while former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s tactics changed the game on the pitch, his dress sense has inspired a raft of new managers on the touchline. Spaniard Pep, who left City in the summer, favoured simple T-shirts and chinos, paired with white trainers.
An unprecedented nine Premier League clubs will have new managers when the season kicks off on Friday – and most of the 20 top-flight coaches appear to be following Pep’s style guide.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta – a former assistant of Pep at City – is among those who will be dressing for the occasion as the team start their title defence.
