Six transfers Premier League title rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd can do that week

The Premier League has less than one week before it swings into action – and clubs are still scrambling around to get deals done ahead of the big kick off.

Liverpool could be the most active of the title rivals – before they open their campaign away at Newcastle on Sunday afternoon – as they are still in the hunt for a winger to fill the rather sizeable boots of Mohamed Salah.

Andoni Iraola’s side have been hotly linked with a move for PSG winger Bradley Barcola, 23, who is valued at an eye-watering £145m. Barcola was a notable absentee on Sunday as PSG lost the Trophee des Champions to Lens – adding more fuel to speculation he could be ready to leave.

Another man who could be ready to swap PSG for Liverpool is Ibrahim Mbaye – who was also left out of the Parisian giants’ clash with loss to Lens.

Mbaye, 18, has also been linked with an exit after finding himself pushed down the pecking order, but won’t cost as much as Barcola with rumours suggesting he could be granted a transfer to the tune of £40m.

Lewis Hall, 21, has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, and talks could accelerate this week after the Red Devils struggled in defence over the weekend.

However, a previous approach was firmly rejected by Newcastle, who are determined not to sell waving goodbye to Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes already this summer. A recent report has priced Hall at around £60m.

United have also been interested in 29-year-old centre-back Kim Min-jae – but convincing the South Korean could prove to be tricky. BILD reporter Christian Falk said: “As I’ve mentioned with Bayern Insider previously, the South Korean international is on the list at United. They’re always looking at his situation at Bayern Munich.

“That said, Kim Min-jae is very clear at the moment that he wants to stay at Bayern and he’s fine with his current role at the club. He’s not in the starting XI at the moment, but he has a chance to get there if he’s playing well and, of course, if injuries strike.

Reports last week, suggested that Jarell Quansah could be set for a return to England as Sky Sports claims that Arsenal are in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen, though the German club are hesitant to sell.

It’s suggested that it would require considerably more than the £30m fee that Leverkusen paid Liverpool last summer to secure the defender, 23, with some reports earmarking £62m.

The Gunners are also plotting an audacious swoop for Victor Osimhen – despite a firm ‘hands off’ warning from Galatasaray. According to reports in Turkey, president Dursun Ozbek has informed his inner circle: “I will not say ‘yes’ to any transaction that will harm Galatasaray or not benefit Galatasaray.”

However, Turkish publication Sozcu claims Arsenal remain ‘determined’ to sign the 27-year-old Nigerian ace.
