The UK is set to face even more sweltering heat as temperatures head near the 30C mark once again this summer.

Forecasters are predicting that the blistering warm could hit the country as early as next Wednesday (26 August), with the south and east of England getting the highest temperatures, with highs of 29 degrees expected in parts of East Anglia.

While England looks set to bake some more, the rest of the United Kingdom is not likely to experience temperatures quite so high, with the mercury readings likely to stay in the teens in much Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Over the weekend, things will be turning increasingly cloudy across northern Scotland, with some light and patchy rain possible. Elsewhere coastal showers will reportedly ease according to the Met Office, leaving most areas dry with sunny spells.

Even from the start of next week, it won’t be time to dust off the jacket for most Brits, with temperatures remaining at around 22 or 23 degrees across the majority of England and Wales. People in Scotland and Northern Ireland won’t be complaining either, with those regions experiencing a more than palatable 18-19C, according to WXCharts.

Temperatures begin climbing on Tuesday, hitting peaks of 26C in southern England yet again. The remainder of the UK will stay marginally cooler.

Nevertheless, on Wednesday, a blazing period could culminate at 29C. While it’s not predicted to match the extremes of earlier heatwaves across the UK, the scorching weather is likely to deliver another devastating blow to farmers whose harvests have already endured punishing hot and arid conditions.

The most intense temperatures have been predicted for eastern England, climbing to 29C in Norfolk and Suffolk. The capital could hit 27C, mirroring the remainder of the eastern seaboard, reports the Express.

According to the Met Office, conditions will be largely dry with sunny intervals from Sunday through Monday, however it will become progressively overcast from the south afterwards with downpours, and a growing threat of thunderstorms heading into Tuesday.
