Manchester United are reportedly preparing to table a combined £69million offer for La Liga stars Eduardo Camavinga and Alejandro Balde.

United have delivered Michael Carrick three new midfielders so far this summer with Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos arriving last month, while Carlos Baleba recently joined in a £70m deal from Brighton and Hove Albion. Karl Darlow has also been signed on a free transfer to act as back-up to Senee Lammens.

However, it seems that United’s summer activities are far from over, with PacoJo Delgado reporting that bids for Real Madrid’s Camavinga and Barcelona’s Balde are imminent. According to the journalist, an intermediary has suggested that United will aim to secure a £43m deal for Camavinga before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.

Delgado also detailed how his source informed him that a £26m offer for Balde is in the works. It’s well known that United are seeking reinforcements at left-back.

Luke Shaw, now 31, is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, prompting the Reds to plan for a long-term replacement. While club officials had hoped this would be Lewis Hall, Newcastle United are not willing to part with the 21-year-old, forcing the club to explore other options.

Blaugrana academy graduate Balde could be the ideal target. The 22-year-old has slipped down the pecking order under Hansi Flick, and has consequently instructed agent, Jorge Mendes, to secure him a new club for the campaign ahead.

Regarding Camavinga, it appears less probable that the club will chase the Los Blancos star over the coming week, given the recent acquisition of Baleba. United are now blessed with options in their engine room, and will seek to deploy their resources more effectively in other areas.

This comes as United may be seeking to strengthen their attacking options in the transfer window’s closing stages, particularly given Joshua Zirkzee’s departure appears highly probable.

The Dutchman has struggled to make his mark in Greater Manchester since his switch from Bologna two years ago, and has been associated with several Serie A sides recently, including Juventus, Fiorentina and Como.

Reports also indicate that United have been connected with a potential eleventh-hour move for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is presently locked in a contractual row with Crystal Palace.
