Bradley Barcola’s move to Liverpool is progressing

Liverpool have reportedly completed an agreement to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG.

The 23-year-old winger had emerged as the Reds’ priority replacement for Mohamed Salah and a deal has finally been struck with PSG following weeks of negotiations.

It’s reported by The Athletic that a £106million up front fee and £17m in add-ons has been agreed between the two clubs, bringing the total price of the transfer to £123m. The France international is set to undergo his medical in the next 24 hours and will sign a five-year contract.

Barcola reportedly already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and his switch should be announced in the coming days.

If the Frenchman’s move is completed without any hitches, he should be in line to make his debut in Liverpool’s trip to Ipswich on September 4.

Barcola has pushed to leave the Paris giants in search of more regular gametime and a bigger role in the squad. PSG were also keen to cash in with the winger having two years left on the deal and his replacement already introduced into the squad.

Despite his limited minutes behind Khivcha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue, he was still able to find the net 13 times and chip in with seven assists as they won Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season. He also prominent role for France at this summer’s World Cup, appearing in all eight matches and scoring three goals.

Barcola now faces the sizeable task of filling Mohamed Salah’s boots – with the iconic Egyptian leaving Liverpool this summer when his contract ran out.

The agreement for Barcola’s signing throws Cody Gakpo’s future in doubt, with the Dutchman’s future being monitored by Manchester City and Tottenham before the close of the window.

Gakpo, 27, has been key to the Liverpool squad over recent years – but he has emerged as a target for free-spending Spurs, who have already acquired the services of Savinho and Omar Marmoush.

However, with both wingers leaving City for north London, Enzo Maresca’s side have emerged as a surprising potential destination for the Dutch winger.
