A potential new neighbour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has revealed his cutting nickname for the Duchess. The Sussexes are adapting to their new life in the UK after returning earlier this week for their first permanent stay in six years.

While there’s no official confirmation of where they, along with their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are residing, strong rumours suggest it could be within the Cotswolds.

The idyllic South West region that spans several counties is a favourite haunt for celebrities, with the likes of Ellen De Generes, the Beckhams and Jeremy Clarkson calling it home. And another possible new neighbour for the couple is renowned interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Laurence, known for his appearances on BBC’s Changing Rooms, hasn’t held back in sharing his candid views on the couple. Speaking exclusively to the Express, Laurence disclosed he has already bestowed the Duchess of Sussex with a nickname due to her design preferences.

He stated he would “welcome them with open arms” into his Llewelyn Bowen Pattern Emporium shop in the area, should they ever require assistance with “cushions or curtains”.

“But I’m not entirely sure we’re ever going to be Meghan’s cup of tea,” he added.

“What we do is very colourful. It’s probably far too exciting for the Duchess of Beige, but we can try.

“Certainly if she wants to be taken seriously by the ladies of the area, owning a couple of LLB cushions would definitely push her in the right direction.”

Laurence then reinforced the playful moniker, stating: “I think that might just stick. Duchess of Beige. Jackie [his wife] just said from the driving seat, she’s going to really struggle wearing white jeans where we are, it’s very muddy.”

Laurence had previously cautioned the Sussexes that Cotswolds locals can “smell b******t” and that Meghan, in particular, must be “confident” in her identity.

Other residents of the Cotswolds have also voiced their feelings about welcoming one of the most discussed couples globally.

One insisted they “get lost” and take celebrity friend Ellen De Generes with them.

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and briefly resided in Meghan’s native Canada before settling in California, US. They are now reportedly considering properties worth over £10million in the UK.

Meanwhile, King Charles is believed to be hopeful that his son’s return could finally ignite a thawing in his relationship with brother Prince William.
