Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their humiliating defeat to Hull City when they host Ipswich Town in the Premier League, with nine players set to miss the clash
Manchester United are looking to kick start their Premier League season on Sunday (August 30) after they were mauled by The Tigers during the opening weekend.
The Red Devils were stunned on the River Humber as they suffered a crushing 2-0 loss to the side that had been heavily tipped for relegation ahead of the season. However, United have already looked to address the issue in the transfer market.
Carlos Baleba has been signed from Brighton and Hove Albion, to the tune of £70million, but United fans will have to wait a little longer if they want to catch a glimpse of their new superstar.

The United manager confirmed that Baleba is unlikely to be match-ready in time for the clash against Ipswich. The Reds’ boss said: “He’s got a little ankle issue, so maybe a couple of weeks or so, three weeks. We knew that before. It’s no major issue. It’ll be great to have him back.”
Carrick also admitted that Amad Diallo will not feature in the clash with the Tractor Boys as he continues his recovery from a minor injury sustained in training, reports the Mirror.
Mason Mount will also continue to be absent for the encounter. However, Carrick did provide some positive news regarding his fitness, saying: “Mase is back around the group, he trained this week, so a real positive.”
Long-term injury casualty Matthijs De Ligt continues to be out of action, but is gradually nearing full fitness. Carrick provided an update on the Dutchman, stating: “Matta’s obviously been out for a long period of time.
“But he’s training and it’s great to have him back. He won’t be involved, but he’s in good shape and moving in a good direction, so that’s a good bonus for us really, at this stage, to have him back.”
While he wouldn’t have been in the running to start, reserve goalkeeper Tom Heaton will also sit out the fixture after picking up an injury during the pre-season friendly against PSG. Carrick has yet to provide a timeline for the keeper’s return.
Ipswich are missing four players. Jaden Philogene is side-lined with an ankle issue and was absent for the victory over Sunderland.
Florentino Luis is ruled out with a calf problem, having also missed the encounter against the Black Cats. Azor Matusiwa, another player who was absent last week, will once again be unavailable due to a thigh issue.
Jack Taylor remains in the treatment room with a knee injury, having also been unable to participate in the Premier League opener.
