The Russian despot addressed students and teachers ahead of the new school year, but ended up baffling them with a strange tirade about polar bears getting ripped apart
Vladimir Putin compared killer whale attacks on polar bears to the Ukrainian war in front of baffled children at a school. It comes after the Russian despot sent a chilling warning to the West, insisting that Kiev had “opened up Pandora’s box”. With this recent schoolyard omission about animals, ‘Mad Vlad’ is certainly living up to his moniker.
After Putin addressed teachers and students ahead of the new school year, one educator recounted a story about visiting the North Pole and seeing two polar bears there.
Quick as a flash, Putin – who probably doesn’t know how to have a normal conversation – launched into a tirade about apex predators.
“Imagine, there are killer whales living right there,” the Russian dictator said. “They eat these bears like small fry. They just pounce in a pod and tear them to pieces.”
He added: “It’s all very interesting. It’s like a food chain. Children need to be told about this too, so they understand the world we live in and why we’re conducting a special military operation.”
At no point did Putin explain how the killer whale attacks on polar bears are connected to the reasons for the invasion of Ukraine.
Was he comparing Russia to a pod of killer whales? Was Volodymyr Zelensky the helpless polar bear? We may never know.
Putin is becoming the bloke in your friendship group you definitely don’t want to be stuck on your own with at a house party. Oh, killer whales is it, Vlad – sorry, I’m just going to the bathroom actually.
It’s not the first time weird Uncle Putin has been seen behaving weirdly out in public. In June this year during a visit to the Gromov Flight Research in Zhukovsky, the Russian President started lovingly caressing the cockpit of a passenger aircraft.
And caress he did… for an unsettlingly long amount of time. Even weirder, the Kremlin decided to publish these pictures – which makes Putin look like he’s the protagonist in one of those freaky US shows where a man falls in love with and tries to marry his car.
Even stranger perhaps was back in April, when the war-mongering Russian dressed as a schoolboy while meeting the President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia.
During the conversation the despot pulled a number of bizarre facial expressions which drew comparisons of a “human emoji”. Let’s just hope he didn’t bring up a polar bear getting ripped apart by a killer whale as small talk.
