A source has reportedly revealed that Prince William and King Charles are ‘on the same page’ about what happens in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been “derailed” by Harry and Meghan to the UK, it is claimed. A Royal insider William will be “watching over his shoulder” following the news, which apparently has come as a shock to the Firm.
An unnamed source reportedly Vanity Fair. “There’s a sense that William is going to have to be watching over his shoulder the whole time. He doesn’t know what his brother is going to spring on them all next.
“This was meant to be a happy time for him. Catherine is doing well and George is just about to start Eton. This has just derailed them.”
The source also described the future king as “concerned” about the speed of the decision, adding that William is keen for Meghan and Harry to not be fully brought back into the fold.
They said: “Prince William is very concerned about the Sussexes coming back and why they have made the decision so quickly. He is adamant the situation must remain as it is and that Harry and Meghan will not carry out royal engagements.
“He has sought his father’s assurance there will be no changes to the present situation.”
The source also indicates that a lengthy discussion has already taken place between William and Kate and other senior royals, including the Queen and King.
According to the report, William chatted to the monarch “one on one” about the possible move, and the pair remain “on the same page” that that Harry and Meghan will remain private individuals and not be given any sort of official royal duties.
The royal couple returned from the US last week, and are believed to be residing at a property in the Cotswolds area of England, not far from London.
The move has been rumoured to be partially caused by a desire to enrol the pair’s two children Archie and Lilibet at a UK school.
It has also been reported that Meghan Markle could be making a return to acting, with several reports that an appearance in Guy Richie’s The Gentleman could be in the works.
