I’ll have what she’s having
My mate insists on sleeping with all of my ex-boyfriends. The minute I finish with a guy, she leaps in. She flirts, woos and bonks – they brags about it.
She’s done this too many times now for it to be funny.
She’s prettier than me, so I don’t know what she’s trying to achieve.
She’s just bonked the ex-love of my life and I’m devastated. I’d never dream of messing on her doorstep. What is her problem when she could have any guy in the world?
JANE SAYS: This woman is not your friend. True friends don’t pull stunts like this. You don’t need this complicated individual in your life.
She’s so immature that she always has to have what you’ve had. Tell her that she’s exhausting and that you’ve had it with her. It could be that she’s deeply unhappy or simply a nasty troublemaker – but what do you care? You owe her nothing.
Heavy lifting
My son (28) wants me to do his dirty work for him.
He’s secretly sleeping with a new lover and wants ME to tell his long term lover she’s toast.
Apparently, I have a better way with words…
This is typical of him. I’ve lied for him his whole life.
From claiming the dog had eaten his homework to telling employers that he was seriously ill, I’m the first person he turns to whenever the going gets tough.
Now he’s a man and I don’t see why I should have to do his heavy lifting again. Do you?
His long-term girlfriend is like a daughter to me.
I hate the thought of hurting her. But he says that blood is thicker than water and that my first loyalty should be to him.
JANE SAYS: When is your son ever going to grow up? And when are you going to stop mollycoddling him?
I suggest you nip this nonsense in the bud right now. Insist that he tells his current girlfriend the truth; that he no longer loves her and has met someone new.
Of course, you love your boy and want to be helpful, but a line must be drawn in the sand before he continues to make a fool of you.
It’s very sad that his girl has to leave but these things happen – and it’s nothing to do with you.
Old habits
My first husband left me six months after our wedding.
I returned home from work one night and he’d gone – taking all our savings and most of our wedding presents with him. As soon as our divorce came through, I went straight out and married his oldest friend in revenge. My current husband is a decent man. So why do I keep fantasising about my ex?
My ex was funny, sexy and unpredictable – but a complete rat. Colleagues say I should inject some life into my marriage, but my current husband is shy and will never change now. Is this it? Is this my life?
JANE SAYS: It’s always a big mistake to go back. If you were to meet your first husband again, then you’d be bitterly disappointed. Never forget that he behaved liked a complete toad.
Your current husband may seem dull in comparison, but he’s solid and dependable. I read recently that exercising together is good for relationships.
If you have time on your hands, then make new friends; find a new interest or involve yourself in volunteering.
Helping others makes us feel good about ourselves. Assign your ex to the past and concentrate on what you have in front of you.
