Iceland want to reward fakeaway devotees o TGI Fridays, Toby Carvery, Harry Ramsden’s and Las Iguanas who can demonstrate their love for each brand
Iceland are searching for the nation’s biggest food superfans – offering foodie fanatics the chance to win free ‘fakeaways’ for a YEAR.
The retail giant is hunting for fakeaway devotees of TGI Fridays, Toby Carvery, Harry Ramsden’s and Las Iguanas to step up to the plate and demonstrate their love for each brand.
Those crowned number one fans will win a free supply of their favourite fakeaway for the year and bragging rights after being inducted into Iceland’s Food Hall of Fame.
The hunt is launching to celebrate Iceland and The Food Warehouse’s premium Food Hall range, which offers takeaway-inspired products from each of the nation’s best-loved brands.
It’s also getting underway just in time for ‘fakeaway season’, as Iceland research reveals that 51% of Brits plan to cut back on takeaways this autumn and winter and enjoy their favourites at home instead.
Of the 2,000 Brits quizzed, a thrifty 43% said they’re enjoying more at-home versions of their favourite takeaway dishes this year than ever before.
One winner for each brand will win a free supply of their favourite fakeaway for the year, with an Iceland e-gift card worth £585.
To enter the competition, shoppers need to head to Iceland’s Food Hall of Fame landing page, name their favourite brand and make the case for why they are its biggest fan.
Entrants can share their funniest stories, unusual food rituals or simply explain why no weekly shop is complete without their favourite item.
To enter for a chance to become Iceland’s Food Hall Superfans and win a free supply of their favourite fakeaway for the year, visit www.iceland.co.uk/food-hall-of-fame and enter your submission.
Entries are open now until Tuesday September 15 and winners will be notified by Wednesday September 23. Terms and conditions apply.
An Iceland spokesperson said: “Britain is a nation of food fanatics and everyone has that one brand they simply can’t live without.
“Our Food Hall of Fame celebrates the iconic names that have earned a special place in shoppers’ hearts and now we want to celebrate the people who love them most.
“Whether it’s a quirky food ritual, a lifelong loyalty or a story that proves true devotion, we want to hear it.”
To further celebrate the launch of its Food Hall range, Iceland created a one-day takeover in Manchester in Northern Quarter foodie hotspot Bada Bing.
The Iceland Food Hall Takeaway treated hungry Mancunians to a day of free takeaway-inspired favourites.
Alongside the nationwide Food Hall of Fame search, Iceland is also bringing the fun home with their ‘Friday Night Food Hall’ competition, running from September 4 to October 30.
Inspired by a certain Saturday night television series, the campaign will surprise households across the UK with doorstep activations featuring live games, giveaways and a special appearance from brand ambassador Josie Gibson.
Arriving in a fully branded Iceland and The Food Warehouse Food Hall van, the team will transform an ordinary Friday night into a memorable fakeaway experience packed with prizes, entertainment and plenty of Food Hall favourites.
To enter the Friday Night Food Hall competition and get the chance to win your favourite Iceland fakeaway delivered straight to your front door on September 4, follow the instructions on Iceland’s Facebook or Instagram pages.
