The Reform leader’s party conference speech faced delays this evening as security concerns were raised over protesters – but party members were dancing to Come On Eileen
Nigel Farage’s speech descended into chaos with a flurry of protests and fighting during his speech.
The leader was interrupted three times during his keynote speech, as audience members booed and tried to land blows on the protesters. Farage shouted the group were “boring” as security attempted to kick out the disrupters.
Reform’s chief was earlier delayed amid a terror alert. Crowds were told there was a delay thanks to”unforeseen circumstances” as security chiefs swept and searched under the stage.
High level Reform sources claim terror officers refused to let the leader onstage amid fears there could be an attack – and came just minutes after Richard Tice was on stage giving his delivery.
Protesters popped up during his speech with a banner showing the monopoly man, saying “collect five million, burn the planet.”
Thousands packed the auditorium with no clue there was an issue as they sang along to Come on Eileen and Dancing Queen by ABBA.
However once Farage appeared, protesters then shouted from the centre of the floor to drown out Farage as he started his speech.
Onlookers booed the climate change activists who were immediately escorted out but continued to shout from outside.
A rattled Farage tried to continue, calling the activists “boring”. Mr Farage even asked one protester if they studied sociology.
He also took time in his speech to address the recent controversy exposed over political donations.
He said: “Reform has broken no law. Ask yourself why is all of this happening. Because they’re scared of us. That’s why it’s happening.”
He then claimed that should Reform get into power, they would declare a national emergency to fix Britain, adding they would flood the House of Lords with peers so they have the majority and if they were stopped from doing that, would “launch a referendum and they will all be swept away.”
“The plan is bold but Britain is broken and only Reform can fix it,” he added.
