Adult content fans are “loving wrinkles” and actively seeking out older women on adult platforms, data suggests. The figures signal a major shift away from the industry’s long-running obsession with youth.
Fresh data from women-led adult site Ersties says demand for mature performers is climbing fast, challenging the assumption that audiences only want young stars.
While categories such as “college”, “teen”, and “barely legal” have dominated for years, Ersties says searches for “Over 50” are up 30% over the past year, alongside a rise in requests for scenes featuring older women, including pairings between mature women and younger partners. That’s how “MILFmaxxing” has taken over the internet.
And the perfect example of the trend has recently been featured on the site with Leilani, a 61-year-old adult star from Florida, USA. She has quickly become one of its standout successes.
Comments on Leilani’s video praised her natural beauty, confidence and authenticity, with viewers calling for more women in their 40s, 50s and 60s. One viewer said they loved the platform and wanted to see more older models, while another praised the representation of women embracing their natural appearance and said it deserves greater appreciation.
Others pointed to the charisma they associate with women over 50, suggesting Leilani’s popularity reflects a wider appetite for seeing older women portrayed as confident, desirable and sexually expressive. Leilani told the Daily Star she has seen the shift first-hand.
Asked what is driving the trend, she exclusively told the Daily Star: “I have a fan who seriously likes my wrinkles. He has ordered many custom photos of me showing off my wrinkles, and he doesn’t even know why he likes wrinkles so much!
“I think it is more that mature women are willing to be natural and realistic in showing their desires. You don’t really become confident about sex and realise the enjoyment of sex until you are older, so experience really does matter.”
On being 61 in an industry “hyper-obsessed with youth and perfection”, she said: “Intriguing! I have watched so many come and go in this industry over the years, mostly younger models. I believe it is my longevity in the industry that makes me so popular with fans.
“Plus, I am completely natural, which is not something you often see in this industry.” Leilani explained she entered adult work after the 2008 housing crash hit her previous job.
She said: “I entered this industry because MILFs were becoming popular 16 years ago. Prior to that, I was a mortgage loan processor and when the 2008 housing market crash happened, I needed a new career.
“So I thought, why not give this a shot? I wanted to create something that I did not see in the industry. I rarely saw the excitement, passion, sensuality of sex in any adult movie I watched and I wanted to change that. I thought that if I wanted to see adult movies that showed those characteristics, surely there were others that wanted that too.”
She believes older women’s sexuality still shocks some people. “Probably because it is not the norm in society,” she said. “Older women are supposed to be grandmas, sweet old ladies taking care of the family, watching the grandchildren, baking, etc.
“Anything that breaks with that traditional norm can be scary to a lot of people.” On what makes sex in later life different, Leilani was blunt: “Confidence! It is critical in everything but especially with sex… Confidence and acceptance in yourself and your sexuality makes the sex fabulous!
“Be open-minded to trying new things too as you won’t know if you like something if you have never tried it.” And to older women who feel their desirability is gone, she added: “Trust me, it never ended. You just shoved it aside because society said you should. Pull it back out ladies! Embrace yourselves!”
