Olivia Attwood is refusing to go on her boyfriend’s podcast until he gets better lighting.
The reality star went official with Pete Wicks recently and the loved up couple are keen to talk about their relationship to answer questions about their story from the public. The perfect platform would be on one of their successful podcasts – ‘Liv has Olivia’s House and Pete does Staying Relevant with Sam Thompson.
However, former Love Islander ‘Liv is not going anywhere near Pete’s show until he hires a new design team. Asked about doing a joint interview Liv spilled: “Yeah, that might be nice, because this is the next thing.
“Because obviously, it now feels like we’re getting to the point where it would be cool, it would make sense for Pete to come on my pod, would make sense for me to go on his. Obviously, he should come here first.
“He and Sam, of course, want me to go over there first. Dolls, have you seen the lighting at Staying Relevant? Okay, it’s a successful podcast, they smash it, the Relevanters are loyal to f***.
“But there’s two men, and you know that studio is lit by men. It’s lit like B&Q. I am 35 years old, I cannot sit under those fluorescent lights.” Referring to her own show she laughed: “This is soft, beautiful, sexy lighting.”
Now their relationship is out in the open are thy feeling pressure? ‘Liv replied: “We tried to keep this under wraps as long as possible for the reason of like, you know, let’s try and reduce the pressure on us for as long as we can.
“We both come from reality TV backgrounds, right? It’s like the ultimate reality TV crossover if you’re a reality TV fan. You know, our lives have moved on quite a lot. The way Pete establishes himself in his relationship with the media and everything, he now wants more privacy probably than I’m putting more open my audience, like my audience online, I tell them everything here at Olivia’s House, it’s open book.
So I think we have to respect each other’s boundaries. But I’ve also seen him be a lot more open than he’s ever been. So I’m kind of thinking like, if you’re comfortable, I’m comfortable.
Yeah, there’s an element of pressure. There’s an element of me wanting to protect myself. And I’ve been burned over the years multiple times, you know, by friends, by partners.”
“Like, of course, when this relationship evolved, me and Pete, it was like, there was a kind of push back and forth for, I guess, a period of time where I was kind of maybe keeping him at bay and keeping my wall up because I’m like, oh, but what if, oh, but what if. But also, I am who I am. My core is like, I love love.
Like, I love being in love. I think, like, love is that there’s nothing better on this planet ever. And I also just think we never know how long we’re going to have here.
So, you know, people can have their opinions about, you know, new relationships, old relationships, timelines, whatever, but you don’t know how long you’ve ever got. So it’s like, if you find something that feels special, I would rather embrace it than deny myself like that happiness. I mean, none of us know what’s going to happen.”
“Like, you can try and do your work to protect yourself as best you can, and you can try and vet situations out. But look, there’s people that were married 50 years, they get blindsided.
Like, there’s people that meet, they have a shotgun wedding three weeks later, and they stay together the rest of their lives. I really genuinely don’t believe there is a formula that is foolproof. So I’ve kind of got to the point of it now.
I’m like, let’s enjoy it. I want our audiences, our communities to be as part of it on our terms. So it’s like, we want to share this with you, but also we have to have an element that is ours.
And what we share with everyone will be what we decide to share with everyone between us.”
