A drunk flasher breached a sexual harm prevention order after he was caught on the Metro. Kenneth Wilson was made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order after being convicted of exposure in June last year.
As part of the order, Wilson is banned from entering a railway station or travelling on a train whilst “under the influence of an intoxicant”. But on December 6 last year, the 63-year-old was caught drunk on a Metro at South Gosforth in Newcastle, report Chronicle Live.
Wilson, of no fixed address, but formerly of Kenton, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court to be sentenced for breaching a sexual harm prevention order. He had pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court heard that a customer service manager for the Metro was notified of Wilson at South Gosforth station. Gurjot Kaur, prosecuting, said: “She told the defendant to get off [the Metro] and he did. He told her to f*** off multiple times.”
Wilson then walked off and was arrested on nearby Station Road by officers. The court heard he was “clearly intoxicated” at the time and was “smelling strongly of alcohol”.
The court was told Wilson had 86 previous convictions for 182 offences. He had been in custody on remand since December 12 last year.
Jennifer Coxon, defending, said: “The defendant has complex needs and has struggled with homelessness and alcohol use.” She added that he experiences “self-neglect” due to mental health issues and asked the judge to consider his guilty plea.
Judge Gavin Doig sentenced Wilson to 10 months prison. Due to time already served, he is likely to be released immediately.
