A motocross rider has died aged just 28 as his devastated fiancée said life feels “impossible” without him.
Jamie Wainwright, from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, is believed to have died after a motorcycle accident. The talented rider was passionately involved in motocross and competed for a number of well-known teams during his sporting career, including Revo Seven Kawasaki and Apex Motocross.
He raced on both KTM and Kawasaki bikes, as reported by NeedToKnow. Full details surrounding Wainwright’s death have not yet been released. But his devastated fiancée Hannah Murray, who had been with him for 13 years, has now paid an emotional tribute to her “best friend”.

She said: “This hurts more than anything in this world, and life feels impossible without you in it.
“My heart has broken into a million pieces; a life without you is something I never imagined would ever happen. I love you more than anything in this world.
“My right arm, my best friend, the person I would go to for anything and everything.
“The person who made me laugh 24/7, the most gorgeous person inside and out; you were my whole world. 13 years with you have been the best years of my life.
“I will miss and love you for every second of the rest of my life. Nothing is ever going to be the same; this world feels so scary without you here.
“You knew I worshipped the ground you walked on and would have done anything in this world for you; it was us forever. I hope you continue to look down on me as I’m really going to need you.”
Wainwright was also a passionate runner, leading him to co-set up JR Elevate Mind Body Adventure.
He has also been remembered as a beloved son, brother and uncle. Stinsons Independent Family Funeral Directors issued a statement on his death.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “Sadly, we announce the passing of James Wainwright, known to all as Jamie, who passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, aged 28 years.
“A much-loved son to Chris and Karen, a cherished brother to Ben and Matt, a devoted fiancé to Hannah, and a much-loved uncle to Summer.
“Jamie will be remembered for the life he lived, the memories he made and the many special moments shared with those who knew and loved him.”
Wainwright’s funeral is due to take place at Holy Trinity Church in his hometown on Wednesday, September 16.
