Donald Trump has shared a video that appears to portray King Charles as ‘uncaring’, contrasting it with clips of his own compassionate acts towards troops and veterans
Donald Trump has sparked fury by launching a bizarre attack on King Charles by sharing a video that seems to depict the British monarch as heartless.
The Orange Manbaby, 80, uploaded a montage of clips showing world leaders apparently ignoring people in distress and military personnel, before cutting to footage of himself greeting soldiers and assisting others.
The manipulated material features a man collapsing in front of King Charles, seemingly painting the sovereign as callous in comparison to Trump’s own supposed empathy. The widely-shared clip dates back to 2020, and is bundled together with other footage of global leaders appearing disrespectful.
This is then starkly juxtaposed with videos of the US President meeting troops and police officers, paying tribute to fallen heroes, embracing elderly veterans and playing the devoted spouse, reports the Express.
A portion of the video uploaded to his Truth Social platform carries the caption “the side of Trump the media doesn’t show you”. The section featuring Charles is from six years ago, when he held the title of Prince of Wales.
He is touring an Asda distribution centre in Bristol alongside the Duchess of Cornwall. A member of staff is shown chatting to the future monarch before his legs buckled and he tumbled towards the floor.
The truncated clip deployed by Mr Trump shows the royal seemingly throwing his hands up in despair, before quickly pivoting to stride away from the fallen man, apparently unmoved.
Yet the complete footage revealed Charles extending his arm in an attempt to catch the supermarket employee. Clearly worried, he then stayed nearby as the individual was given medical care.
He only stepped back once his security team confirmed the person was alright. The man swiftly bounced back and was subsequently able to continue his chat with Charles.
Trump has previously described Charles as a “great, great guy,” making the clip an odd depiction of the King from the US leader.
Other personalities shown in an unflattering light in the footage included French President Emmanuel Macron, who is depicted casually strolling past a ceremonial guard who had keeled over at the Elysee Palace.
The video also presented an unfavourable image of former Democrat presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
Mr Biden is shown seemingly glancing at his watch during a solemn ceremony, while Mr Obama is seen delivering his notorious “latte salute” to his marine guards as he disembarked the presidential helicopter with paper cup in hand.
