The Royal is heading back to the States to attend the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in New York City, just weeks after relocating to Britain
Prince Harry is set to return to the US later this month, just weeks after moving back to Britain at the end of August.
The planned trip comes after Harry and Meghan relocated to the UK from their home in Montecito, California. Sources have claimed the couple are “happy to be back” on British soil as they try to get Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet settled in the UK.
Archie, seven, and five-year-old Lili have already started their new school term in the UK following the family’s shock move from the US just two weeks ago, according to People magazine.
Despite the move Harry is due to jet off to America to attend the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting, hosted by Bill and Hillary Clinton.
The event is scheduled to take place in New York City on 22nd and 23rd September. It’s unlikely that his wife Meghan, along with their children will accompany him. Instead, the prince will be rubbing shoulders with a host of celebrities at the event, including Chrissy Teigen, Bill Nye and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.
He has previously attended the event, notably in 2024 when he delivered a speech about the detrimental impact social media can have on young people.
The event is reportedly centred around topics such as artificial intelligence, climate and energy resilience, democracy, humanitarian response, economic opportunity and health, reports the Express.
According to People magazine, the Clinton Global Initiative was established by Bill Clinton in 2005 with the aim of raising awareness about global issues.
The reason behind the duke’s return to the UK remains unconfirmed, yet his homecoming appears to have ushered in a wave of drama.
It follows the release of a letter on behalf of King Charles this week, which reaffirmed that the duke and duchess are not working royals but private citizens.
Harry’s team expressed surprise at the letter and the short notice they were given of it. Reports also indicate that Harry took issue with his father labelling him a private citizen, with the duo reportedly preferring to be recognised as public figures.
The controversy stirred by this letter has led to further issues for the duke, including Uganda withdrawing from the 2027 Invictus Games.
The Duke of Sussex is anticipated to attend the 2026 Wellchild Awards in London a day or two prior to jetting back to the US for his New York City commitment.
