Meghan Markle is heading back to the US just a few weeks after her and Prince Harry’s stunning return to the UK.

The couple, whose comeback prompted a headline grabbing letter written on the King’s behalf labelling them as “private citizens”, are said to be back in Britain so their kids Archie and Lilibet can go to school here.

However, while Harry is set to stay put, Meghan Markle is reportedly on her way back across the pond. According to the royal expert Alison Boshoff, Markle is on her way back for “work” after just a few weeks in the UK, with their home rumoured to be in the Cotswolds.

Boshoff told News Nation: “She is going back by the way, here at half term and in the holidays. Half term is five weeks… so she is just dipping in and dipping out again.”

“In five weeks, she’ll be back in Montecito for a week. Then she’ll come back, do another five weeks, another five weeks in her Cotswolds prison, and then back to Montecito for Christmas.”

However, despite her reported jet-setting, Meghan is said to be “100% committed” to the UK return, according to Boshoff.

She said: “Harry’s friends continue to stoutly insist that ‘Megs’ is ‘100 percent all-in’ with the move.”

Megan”s reported return to the US comes after a letter written on behalf of the King labelled the couple as “private citizens”.

According to the letter, which was written on behalf of the monarch by Lord Benyon, the Sussexes return to the UK will see them take up a role that is “distinct from the state and royal duties undertaken by the working royal family” and they will be afforded the “personal latitude . . . in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish”.

The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity,” it adds.

Meghan and Harry are said to be “surprised” by some of the contents of the letter, whilst reports have suggested that the King’s views are in line with those of Harry’s brother Prince William.

A spokesperson for the pair said that the couple “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance”.
