Boxing ace Ebanie Bridges has spoken out in support of Sydney Sweeney and questioned the “outrage” from some women’s athletes over the Hollywood star’s nude sports gambling adverts.
Sydney, 29, set the internet ablaze over the weekend as she stared in Novig’s advert – leaving very little to the imagination. However, it has received backlash from various athletes – who claim to have shown Sydney “real women in sports”.
But former IBF bantamweight world champion Bridges, who is known for posing in racy lingerie for weigh-ins ahead of her thrilling fights, shared a mocked up picture of her supposedly starring in a Novig advert to her 775,000 followers on Instagram, along with her opinion on the mounting controversy.

The Blonde Bomber said: “My question is… where was all this outrage when trans women were/are trying to compete in women sport?
“Because to me, questions around fairness, safety and the integrity of women’s competition are a far bigger issue than an actress being sexy in an advert to sell a brand.
“Were people too scared to speak up then? Seems so. And don’t hate on @sydney_sweeney for getting paid to be part of a marketing campaign that everyone knew would sell, get attention and get people talking. You all talked about it… so clearly it worked.
“She isn’t an athlete. She isn’t competing against women. Everyone knows it’s an advert, so I really don’t see her as somehow ‘representing’ women’s sport. Not to mention the ad is promoting gambling not promoting sport.”
“Sporty. Girly. Sexy. Business-minded. Why choose?” Bridges, 39, added: “Not a Novig ad… yet”
Many of Bridges’ followers commented in support of the post, with several hailing her “common sense” take. One poster said: “I honestly don’t understand the problem. She isn’t an athlete. She’s just modelling.”
Another said: “Exactly right. They are posting atm because is the current fad.” Bridges replied: “Yeah but too scared to post about things that actually effect sport.”
One fan said: “Where was the outrage when Ronda Rousey posed nude? Serena Williams? This is the most thinly veiled political attack I’ve seen in a long time… and all these women attacking other women fell right into it.
“Also, It’s a gambling ad. You’re selling gambling to MEN. I swear people have stopped using their brains.” Bridges replied: “This comment wins.”
