An elderly Brit was caught on camera throwing punches at a motorcyclist during a furious road rage bust-up in the middle of busy traffic.
Two blokes ended up in a heated scuffle on the tarmac after a scooter supposedly left a ‘scratch’ on a Mercedes. The row kicked off at traffic lights, when the car owner climbed out of his motor to have it out with the biker.
Passerby Diego Nunes Nogueira filmed the entire drama on his GoPro camera mounted on his helmet. “The driver’s car suddenly stopped at a traffic light,” the 40-year-old from Bromley, told NeedToKnow. “The motorcyclist thought the car was going to continue, but when the car stopped suddenly, he managed to brake and avoid hitting it.
“The driver immediately got out of his car, visibly angry, saying that he was going to call the police, and took a photo of the motorcycle’s number plate. When the traffic light changed, the motorcyclist continued on his way.”
Diego carried on with his journey where the biker overtook him on Waddon road, Croydon, London. Minutes later the Mercedes pulled up behind the scooter to challenge the rider around 2:30pm on 14 Sep..
The duo traded angry words with the driver, absolutely livid that the biker had scarpered before the Old Bill turned up. The irate rider once more protested his innocence while walking over to inspect the ‘scratch’ which he insisted wasn’t there.
As the bloke headed back to his bike, the motorist clearly lost his rag and marched towards the scooter before trying to knock it over. The pair then faced off in the middle of the street, with the older man landing a punch to the biker’s stomach – only to be hit with a hook to the face in return, leaving him sprawled on the tarmac.
Diego stated: “As the situation became more aggressive, I felt nervous and concerned, especially when it became physical.
“I decided to keep filming because I realised the situation was becoming serious.”
Luckily, a passing woman intervened and separated the two, as the irate biker made his exit and the elderly man remained on the ground.
The Met Police have confirmed that they received no corresponding reports relating to the incident.
