Meet the real-life Addams Family whose children play with a haunted doll that they claim has “wept tears of acid” and even set itself on fire.
JP Kenny, 36, and his partner, Kymmi Jeffrey, 41, have spent five years building a collection of supposedly haunted objects – including Annie, the UK’s most haunted doll.
Annie will feature alongside a uranium tea set and the “world’s most haunted mirror” in a spooky exhibition organised by JP, Kymmi and their two daughters, Snow, 13, and Pebble, 10, at Wincham Hall, Cheshire, from October 1, 2026.
The family’s collection has been built up over the years, with some of the items being sent to them in the post by followers. But one object in particular has become almost part of the family – Annie, the supposedly haunted doll.
Snow and Pebble will even play around with Annie, despite the family’s claims that the doll has previously wept tears of acid and set itself on fire.
JP, a ghost hunter from Cheshire, said: “These items have been part of our lives for so long, it really feels like an honour to share with others.
“The entire family is so excited for the show, especially since we’ve now been able to extend it. I know the girls are really excited to showcase Annie as well, as they love playing with her at home.”
The ghost-hunting family – also known as the Occult Family – have been steadily growing their collection since experiencing what they describe as dark energy in their home. They got Annie the doll by purchasing it from its previous owner, while the ‘world’s most haunted mirror’ was sent to them in the post by a fan.
JP has stated: “We’ve been growing our collection steadily over the years.
“Once we became a bit more known online, followers and fans would send us ‘haunted items’ in the post. We would investigate everything that came to us and, although a lot of it wasn’t haunted, some items really stuck with us.”
In total, the family have 20 items they’ve chose to display, but still have more at home, including a haunted bed the couple sleep on. They decided to find a space where people could come and see the haunted artefacts, so contacted the owner of Wincham Hall and asked if they could convert the property’s chapel into a museum for a month.
Tickets for October sold out almost immediately, so the family extended the exhibition through to December 31. Previously, the family went on a ghost-hunting tour with their two children. And last year they performed a protective ritual to keep themselves safe from what they believed were demons.
Originally, they were unsure where the dark energy was coming from, but Kymmi thinks it may have come from a voodoo doll called Vinni, which will also be on display at the exhibition.
She said: “Someone sent it to us in the post – it came in a protected box. It has what seems like black sheep’s hair and a bone attached to it. We think the dark energy may have come from there or from something else we have picked up on our travels.”
