Melania Trump has lifted the lid on her husband’s chaotic second term in the White House, admitting the President “doesn’t want to hear” her honest feedback.
The First Lady opened up during a TV appearance, insisting Donald Trump is doing “the best that he can” while juggling global crises from Iran to Ukraine.
Speaking on Fox News, the 56-year-old gave a surprisingly frank insight into life inside the Trump camp following his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Melania said: “He’s very focused. He has a lot on his plate. It’s very different, what’s going on around the world now. But I think he’s doing the best that he can.”
Praising the 80-year-old Commander-in-Chief’s work ethic, she added: “He works nonstop. He has the most energy than anybody. He’s from morning until evening nonstop working.”
Host Brian Kilmeade quizzed Melania on what she thought of Donald’s UN performance, where he threatened to “annihilate” Iran and spent time awkwardly trying to spot her in the crowd.
He said: “Where is our First Lady? Where is she? She’s around here someplace. Can you imagine? I can’t see the First Lady.”
Melania revealed she gives him direct feedback behind closed doors, even if he doesn’t always like it.
She said: “I told him he had great delivery, he did very well. And a great speech. I tell him the truth. Sometimes he doesn’t want to hear it, what I tell him, but that’s okay. I always say the truth.”
The former model’s appearance was aimed at promoting Imperia, a summit billed as a “Davos for executive women”, before heading off to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
She also dropped news of her own diplomatic moves, revealing she maintains “a direct channel with Russia, and with Ukraine” aimed at reuniting children separated by the bloody conflict.
Meanwhile, Trump is fighting fires on multiple global fronts. He met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York as Ukraine pushes for heavy weapons packages, all while American motorists face record-high diesel prices triggered by strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Tensions also remain high in the Middle East, with Tehran-backed Houthi forces disrupting vital shipping routes through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, though US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff have held secret talks with Iranian delegates.
Ending her TV stint, Melania teased a new two-part documentary, promising to answer “some private questions that I will answer that people never heard before.”
Hinting at a potential November release, she added: “It’s more conversation one on one with me.”
She is now preparing to play host alongside her husband as Chinese chief Xi Jinping makes his historic state visit to Washington, taking Xi’s wife Peng Liyuan on a tour of the Smithsonian museum.
