Parents at school have been hit with warning letters about taking photos of children that are not their own after the Sussexes moved to the area as one says “I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK last month has reportedly sparked parents being warned over taking photographs of other people’s children after the Sussexes moved to the area.
Parents visiting the school where the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes kids, Archie and Lilibet, have received a letter warning them about photos.
It is also believed that this warning was given to parents at neighbouring schools, whose children play sport against other schools in the area. In the letter sent out this week, one school stated that to parents “the importance of only taking photos of your own children”.
Speaking to The Mirror, one parent said: “It can’t be a coincidence that these notices are going out now just after Harry and Meghan have moved their children into the local area.
“It’s complete overkill, everyone knows the boundaries, and could you imagine the uproar from other parents if someone was discovered purposely taking pictures of children that weren’t theirs. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come because it’s totally unnecessary.”
The letter comes after Meghan suffered a security breach after a personal phone number was reportedly leaked online.
A number, said to belong to the Duchess of Sussex, was reportedly posted on the internet after being obtained from a parents’ WhatsApp group connected to their children’s new school.
The private number was reportedly circulating online having been shared multiple times, along with a screenshot of a group containing fellow Year 3 parents, according to The Sun.
The image, which has not been verified by The Daily Star, shows a WhatsApp chat called “Year 3” and a message welcoming “Meghan” to the group and saying that “Archie” will be joining the school tomorrow.
The reported leak comes after the couple were forced to switch the school they had selected for their two children Archie and Lilibet, due to “security concerns” created by traffic jams during the morning commute.
A source close to the couple said: “The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.”
They added: “The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”
