A colossal £111million is up for grabs in Friday’s Powerball superdraw and the monster cash prize would allow the winner to snap up a very nice motor and an army of robot butlers
A lucky winner is set to become filthy rich in this Friday’s (September 25) Powerball superdraw with an eye-watering £111million up for grabs.
If a UK-based player bags the big one, they will instantly become one of the wealthiest people in the country with a bank account rivalling the likes of Adele and Harry Styles.
With that amount of cash you could certainly pay off a few bills and treat yourself to some very luxurious purchases. Here we look at seven things you could pick up:
1. St John’s House
The largest house built in Britain in over 100 years – inspired by the Great Gadsby-esque mansions of the roaring 20s – this grand estate is expected to sell for at least £100 million upon completion.
While you’re not getting much upfront, the 60,000 sq acres of land is worth £20 million alone and is situated in the picturesque village of Rawsden in the Cotswolds.
Equipped with a helipad, guest houses and its own private museum, you’ll certainly get a bang for your buck when it’s all finished.
2. Enzo Fernandez – or half of Lamine Yamal
Following the 2022 World Cup Chelsea splashed a then British record fee on Argentine youngster Enzo Fernandez, spending £106 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge. He then joined Man City earlier this month for £125million.
While you might not be his biggest fan following his antics in this year’s World Cup, if you split the difference you may just about be able to afford him.
Alternatively, Barcelona’s World Cup winner Lamine Yamal is currently worth £190million, meaning you could buy just over half of him for the same price.
3. A Mercedes Benz 300SLR
In 2022, the legendary Mercedes Benz 300SLR sold at auction for £110million, making it the biggest car sale of all time.
Racing legend Stirling Moss described the Benz as: “the greatest sports car ever built by anybody anytime”, so it might be quite the conversation starter at parties.
4. 285,714,286 Freddo Frogs
Any complaint you might have had about Freddo-flation won’t be an issue for much longer, as according to our calculations, £111 million could get you a decent amount of Cadbury’s chocolate at 35p a pop.
However, it’ll amount to nearly 5,000 tonnes of chocolate, so may also have to pay for some urgent dental work.
5. A private island in the Caribbean
Listed at £80million, Water Cay in Turks and Caicos is pitched as “one of the most significant development opportunities remaining in the Caribbean”.
Though largely underdeveloped, it’s a short boat ride from the mainland and you won’t have to worry about any noisy neighbours, although you might have to stretch your budget if you actually want to live there.
6. Three episodes of Stranger Things season 5
The first ruler of the streaming age completed its final season earlier this year, with each episode reportedly costing Netflix an average of $50 million, or £37 million.
Luckily for whoever wins on Friday, the £111 million payout would be enough for exactly three episodes of the Duffer Brothers epic saga.
7. 7,400 personal robot butlers
If you are not too keen on paying a human to do your jobs around the house, you could buy an army of robot butlers instead.
Consumer humanoid robots such as the Unitree G1 are priced at around £15,000 each. So the Powerball payout would net you around 7,400 of these machines, meaning you could fill about 10% of Old Trafford up with your new robotic assistants.
Friday’s big prize comes as data from Playcasino revealed that 44 is the most drawn Powerball number of all time, at 226, with 42 and 23 following closely with 224 and 223 respectively.
On the flip side, 22 is bottom over the decade too, with just 73 appearances, and the next least drawn numbers are 40 (86 times), 43 (88) and 1 and 18 (90 each).
