A trustworthy concealer forms the backbone of any makeup collection, whether you’re looking to mask dark circles, discolouration, or spots. Now, trendy beauty brand VIEVE has unveiled a new £28 concealer that delivers ‘your skin on a really good day’ – and customers are already hailing it as their new go-to essential.
VIEVE, created by influencer and former makeup counter assistant Jamie Genevieve in 2020, has rapidly climbed the beauty ladder to become one of the biggest names in the business. It’s particularly renowned for its Skin Nova range , which seamlessly combines makeup with skincare to deliver a fresh, luminous look.
This year, the brand has broadened its top-selling range with the £28 Skin Nova Concealer. The formulation has been crafted to provide buildable coverage with an effortlessly glowing finish, while its featherlight, skincare-enriched texture is claimed to illuminate, soften and refine the skin without feeling weighty or thick.

It’s available in 24 shades , spanning from fair to deep with cool, neutral and warm undertones. It can be applied lightly, or layered for greater coverage, establishing itself as an adaptable makeup bag essential.
The formula boasts a host of skin-nourishing ingredients, including Persian Silk Tree and Holy Herb Extracts, which are designed to revitalise the look of the under-eye area, while Collagen Amino Acids work to support firmer, softer and smoother-looking skin. Polyglutamic Acid helps to enhance hydration and boost moisture retention, while the Fine Spherical Powders deliver a silky application and soft-focus finish, reports the Mirror .
While VIEVE’s buildable formula offers greater versatility, some beauty enthusiasts prefer to opt for something with full coverage from the get-go. For that, I’d suggest the Armani Luminous Silk Concealer, which retails for £40 . Though it provides instant coverage that’s perfect for tackling dark circles, it still boasts a silky texture that won’t cake into fine lines.
For a more budget-friendly option, I’m also a huge fan of the Refy concealer at £22. This serum-based brightening concealer offers buildable, crease-resistant coverage and previously scooped the title of best concealer at the 2024 Cosmopolitan Winter Beauty Awards.
Despite being a newcomer to the market, the Skin Nova Concealer has already garnered a wealth of glowing reviews, with one customer describing it as ‘smooth like butter’. They added: “It is absolutely divine. Dewy, lightweight feel and a dream to apply. It is definitely a staple in my everyday makeup routine now.”
Another customer raved: “So pleased I purchased this. I bought the 130 light peach, it is slightly pale for my skin tone at the moment but still works and will be perfect for the coming months. However, there’s one slightly less enthusiastic review. One buyer who was already a fan of VIEVE’s Skin Nova Complexion Balm said they initially enjoyed the concealer because it ‘blended easily and blurred my under-eye shadows and lines’, but discovered that ‘after an hour or so it began to look ‘patchy and cakey’.
To stop concealers from appearing cakey, my top recommendation is to use MUA Katie Jane Hughes’ ‘priming the brush’ method where you apply the product to the back of your hand before working it thoroughly into the bristles of your applicator, such as the 302 Double-Ended Build and Blend Brush from VIEVE (£33). When you then dab it onto the face, precisely the right amount is delivered rather than applying the concealer straight to skin and then smoothing out. It also means you use less product so it lasts longer.
Another customer commented: “This gives the most natural beautiful flawless finish. I think the shade range is surprisingly really good and I love how well it pairs with all of the other Vieve products. I do think that Vieve is such an under rated brand. I really like this and definitely recommend this to everyone.”
