Lloyds Banking Group, which includes Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, is set to close a combined total of 26 branches in October – here’s the full list of closures
The surge of physical bank branch shutdowns continues, with Lloyds Bank and Halifax set to shutter a combined total of 26 branches next month. This comes as increasing numbers of people are switching to online and digital banking alternatives. Lloyds Banking Group, which encompasses Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, stated that the manner in which its customers choose to bank is constantly evolving, which can make it essential to shut or relocate branches.
The bank stated: “When making changes to our branch network, we always look to understand the impact on our customers – including how they continue to access banking services.” October’s shutdowns will begin with the Lloyds branch in Rochdale, situated at 58 Yorkshire Street, with closures proceeding fairly regularly until October 21.
While the banking group is implementing major alterations to its branch network, it added that customers have numerous other methods of accessing its services, reports the Express.
A Lloyds spokesperson previously told MoneyWeek: “With access to one of the biggest branch networks in the UK, alongside local banking options like our Community Bankers, the Post Office, PayPoint, plus our leading apps and 24/7 messaging service, we offer our customers more choice and convenience than ever before.”
Customers with Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland can also utilise branches across the three brands for everyday banking.
