Amazon shoppers can save more than £60 on a £100 Oral-B electric toothbrush as part of an early Prime Day deal. The Oral-B iO2 electric toothbrush has dropped to £39.99 from £100 in a limited-time deal on Amazon ahead of the major sale event, making it a timely opportunity for shoppers considering switching from a manual toothbrush.

The Oral-B iO2 offers three intensity levels – extra-gentle, gentle and daily clean – which can be selected using its simple one-button control. An automatic gum pressure sensor slows the toothbrush and displays a red warning when too much pressure is being applied, while the two-minute timer alerts users every 30 seconds to move to another area of the mouth.

Oral-B says its iO technology delivers 100% cleaner teeth than a regular manual toothbrush while being gentle on gums. The rechargeable toothbrush also has a long-lasting battery and quiet operation. Shoppers should note that it comes with a two-pin charger and does not include an adapter.

The toothbrush is said to be tough on plaque but gentle on gums

The Oral-B electric toothbrush has racked up high ratings on Amazon, as one person said: “Dentist recommended these for the wife, so I got one for myself as well. Great toothbrush and better than the previous Oral-Bs I have had. The battery lasts for ages as well. You still get toothpaste dribbling down the handle if you’re not careful, but I have never found a toothbrush that doesn’t do this yet. Excellent clean. Warning light for when the battery gets low. When the battery gets low, it still stays at good power rather than dropping to a slower speed, which I like. Definitely worth getting.”

Another added: “Went to the dentist for a cleaning and she actually said that there wasn’t much to do and I must be using an electric toothbrush after only switching three weeks prior, so not much more to say than that about the performance. Brush heads seem to last about three months, battery needs to be charged about every two weeks, and it otherwise works exactly as advertised.”

A third person commented: “Great product, bought on a deal. Made a good saving. I love the comfort of the handle and the power when brushing. Good weight also. The box it arrives in is not your typical box, but that’s all due to cutting packaging and waste. Be mindful of purchasing it as a gift.”

Some others disagreed slightly, however, as one person said: “Good, but brushes are expensive.” Another added: “Good, quiet cleaning. Bought as a replacement for my previous Oral B brush. Didn’t realise it had a whole new shape of brush head base, so my stock of previous heads won’t fit! Hence, four stars, not five.”
