A Manchester City star has made an admission over his future after the Premier League giants were found guilty of breaching 114 of the league’s financial rules. Iliman Ndiaye only moved to City in the summer, but he was open to a potential return.

Ndiaye, 26, was asked about former club Marseille during the international break – with the tricky winger representing Senegal. And he told French outlet La Provence: “The shouts from Marseille supporters asking me to come back? It is nice to hear.

“I don’t think that the story is finished, but we will see. I’m just saying, I never know where it’ll lead me, but we’ll see anyway.”

Ndiaye was part of an agressive summer from Enzo Maresca’s side, who are hoping to reclaim their crown after entering the international break top of the pile.

Alongside Ndiaye, City splashed out on Enzo Fernandez, Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi. However, last week, City were found guilty of breaking the Premier League’s financial rules.

The verdict found that City had “arranged sham contracts” – which misrepresented the true agreement between the parties – with a number of its commercial partners, as well as relying on “sham” agreements with others, to artificially inflate the club’s revenues and reduce its costs over a nine-year period from 2009 to 2018.

A statement said: “The club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators.”

They added throughout the investigation City “committed multiple breaches of its duties of co-operation and utmost good faith towards the league”.

City reject this and have launched an appeal: “Manchester City Football Club can confirm that at 7pm on Thursday 1st October 2026 the club lodged its comprehensive appeal against the opinion of the Premier League Commission, in relation to the Premier League disciplinary matter.

“The club’s firm position is that, on multiple grounds, the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe. The club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case.

“We will continue to respect due process and are necessarily restricted in what we can say further until all proceedings are complete.”
