Gabe Poirot, who survived an 18-day coma after cracking his skull in a crash, claims he had an extraordinary near death experience that saw him floating above his own body
A skateboarder who spent 18 days in a coma claims he met Jesus in the afterlife – describing him as a “mustang” packed with “testosterone”. Gabe Poirot was zooming along on an electric skateboard at 30mph without a helmet back in October 2021 when he hit a bump, flipped backwards and cracked his skull open.
The horror smash left the then-20-year-old with a traumatic brain injury. But as he lay in a coma, Gabe says he had an extraordinary near-death experience that saw him floating above his own body before taking a trip to the Pearly Gates.
Speaking to Fox News, Gabe revealed he was “suctioned up” through a “tunnel of light” while watching his own emergency unfold below.
He said: “I watched my own friend hold my body in his arms and he was praying, and the closer I got to this light, I knew that I had an appointment. I could see the nurses with bewilderment across their faces, thinking, ‘How are you alive?'”
Gabe says he quickly came face-to-face with Christ, but was terrified he was about to get grilled over his sins.
He said: “I didn’t originally see him face-to-face, because my face was down, and I was so concerned that the list of my mistakes was going to be pulled up and I was done for.”
He admitted he thought he had “no hope,” but says Jesus showed him mercy.
He added: “When Jesus looked at me, he picked up my face, and said, ‘Gabriel, why are you concerned about that which has been paid?'”
Describing the journey, the American claimed heaven is a “person” rather than a location. He added that the colours were “beyond description”.
When grilled on what the Son of God actually looked like, Gabe gave a confusing description, but insisted Jesus was definitely a rugged man.
“When I hear other people’s testimonies, they didn’t meet a female Jesus; they didn’t meet a soft or a passive Jesus. Jesus is a man,” he said.
“In America, Jesus has been misrepresented. And there are so many cultural things that present him as if he’s some tolerant guy.”
Gabe described the Messiah as “pure fire” who stands at 5ft 11in or 6ft tall – “yet as tall as eternity” – with eyes “burning white and red at the same time.”
He added: “And talk about testosterone, he was like a Mustang, I’m telling you.”
