Thankfully, the Daily Star has you covered, because we’ve picked out some top tier nights of entertainment that won’t require you to take out a mortgage.

Curtain raisers

More often than not, big stage theatre productions can set you back a small fortune, especially if you’re not going to book months and months in advance.

However, if you know where to look, there are several huge name shows that you can still get last minute tickets to that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

At London’s Prince Edward Theatre, you can catch the ‘dead funny’ Beetlejuice The Musical. Known for its dark comedy, the cult classic inspired by Tim Burton’s gothic film has become a must-see on the West End.

The much-loved story follows Lydia Deetz, a teenager struggling with grief after the loss of her mother, who encounters the mischievous spirit Beetlejuice in her new home – and from there, chaos ensues.

Packed with characters fans know and love, plus hilarious one-liners and plenty of otherworldly mayhem, it’s ideal for a family day out. Tickets are on sale from £45.40, with matinee performances on Friday and Saturday.

If you’re in the mood for nostalgia, you can catch Avatar: The Last Airbender in concert at The Oval Hall at Sheffield City Hall – Complex.

To mark its 20th anniversary, the animated TV series is touring the country in a very different form. Following its success in 2024 and 2025 the reimagined experience for fans old and new with a live orchestral performance of Emmy-winner Jeremy Zuckerman’s soundtrack, played in sync with key scenes, character arcs, and iconic moments projected on a full-size cinema screen.

For anyone who grew up watching the original series on Nickelodeon during the mid-2000s its the perfect throw back with tickets starting at around £74.

If you’re ready for a bit of action Gladiators Live returns to UK arenas – and it’s bigger and bolder than ever. Back for a second year running, your favourite Gladiators superstars will go head-to-head with returning Contenders from all three seasons.

The two-hour show promises an action-packed spectacle that’s bound to have you shouting and cheering as they take on the iconic challenges in the arena once again. The first event is kicking off in Aberdeen this weekend (October 10, 11) with tickets at £67.

Gigs

There’s no shortage of gigs happening around the UK – but sometimes it can feel like they require a bank loan to get hold of (we’re looking at you, Oasis). Luckily, there are still some great-value shows out there.

One particularly hot ticket is American rapper and singer Jack Harlow at KOKO in London on Tuesday, October 13. The GRAMMY-nominated artist is in the UK for a special one-off event, and the 1,500-cap venue is his only UK stop on the Monica Tour. The current setlist is over 30 songs long so with tickets priced at just £59, it’s shaping up to be well worth the money.

If you’re in the mood to get your groove on, The Pussycat Dolls are currently on their PCD Forever Tour across the UK and Europe, with their next stop at Utilita Arena Newcastle on Friday, October 9.

Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts have reunited to bring fans a hit-packed setlist that’s perfect for getting your Friday night started. Tickets are on sale for around £50.

Superstar Nicole recently revealed on Instagram that she badly burned her leg just an hour before going on stage – but still made it out to perform. Now that’s dedication.

Up in Belfast, Violet Grohl is following in her father’s footsteps, with a headline show at Limelight 2. With rock legend Dave Grohl as her dad, music has always been a massive part of her upbringing – but she’s no regular Brooklyn Beckham nepo baby.

Having performed on stage since she was a child, first joining her dad for guest spots, she has started carving out her own sound and stepping out front as an artist in her own right.

Capped at around 600 people, and with tickets sitting at £28 it’s a rare chance to catch the upcoming star up close before she blows up. This is one not to miss.

Barrel of laughs

If you need something to make you laugh, look no further than Ricky Gervais. The controversial comedian is bringing his Legend tour to Manchester’s O2 Apollo on October 12.

“This is my most personal show so far and because both cancel culture, and most people I knew growing up, are dead, I can really say what the f*** I want now,” Gervais said.

The show is also set to become his fifth Netflix special – so catch it in person before everyone else can, with tickets priced at £80.
