A 45-year-old driver was arrested after allegedly crashing into a packed restaurant in Greece, injuring three patrons. The driver reportedly failed a breathalyser test at the scene.
Shocking video footage has captured the horrifying moment a car ploughed into a busy restaurant in a popular tourist destination.
The clip shows the 45-year-old motorist careering into the establishment in Greece.
Three diners were hurt in the terrifying incident.
The car can be seen reversing after the crash while customers, clutching chairs, charged towards it.
A breathalyser test carried out at the scene allegedly revealed the driver was over the limit, reports the Express.
Massive plant pots positioned around the venue stopped the car from hitting additional patrons.
“If we didn’t have planters, we would have funerals,” said the owner of the restaurant in Evosmos, Thessaloniki.
The owner said she had departed the premises earlier and dashed back upon hearing of the crash, which happened in the early hours of Sunday.
“I saw terror and panic, it was like watching a movie,” she said.
The motorist was detained at the scene and the three injured diners were taken to hospital.
