Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in the UK since August, but the couple have reportedly adopted separate routines since their return, with Meghan focused on her own brand and family
Meghan Markle has reportedly declined a role alongside Prince Harry following their return to the UK in August. An insider has disclosed that the Duchess of Sussex has her own agenda moving forward and does not wish to shadow her husband “like some Stepford wife”.
The pair have relocated to a private, non-royal residence in the Cotswolds after returning to Britain, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now attending a local school.
Since their return, the Sussexes have adopted distinct routines and public personas. Harry has immersed himself in solo engagements while Meghan has withdrawn from networking events, with sources suggesting she has “no intention of following him around” as proposed. Instead, she is concentrating on her own business ventures and managing the household.
As revealed by Closer, the source stated: “She’s focused on the kids and her brand, and truth be told, she’s not interested in following him around like some Stepford wife.”, reports the Express.
Harry is reportedly supportive of this arrangement. However, the source added that “it does mean a whole lot more pressure on his shoulders and absolutely zero time to himself because the moment he’s free from work he’s got to rush home to give Meghan a break from parenting duties.”
The prince is believed to have taken it upon himself to validate that his family’s relocation to the UK was the correct choice. He has been balancing a multitude of responsibilities, including family duties, charitable endeavours, business prospects and international travels.
An insider revealed: “Getting them all to England was just the first battle, now he has to prove that it was the right decision which means a whole lot of hard work.”
Harry is said to be “adamant” about ensuring the move is successful, with the source further noting: “He’s running from one gig to the next and at the same time he’s working all his contacts to find other opportunities, and not just for himself, he wants to open doors for Meghan too, he promised her he would.”
On the other hand, Meghan is reportedly rejecting the notion that she will never be accepted by the British public. Despite not having made any official public appearances in Britain yet, it is thought that she intends to start soon.
Another source commented: “Meghan is very competitive, she loves taking on a challenge, and she’s coming back to the UK with the mindset that she can turn things around and win people over.
“She’s heard all the predictions that she’ll never be welcomed in England again, but she’s refusing to just roll over and accept that as the truth. There was a time when all the hostility she’s facing across the pond would have taken her down, but she’s stronger than she was six years ago, and she’s insisting that she’s ready to stand up and fight back.
