Consumer champion Which? has named Aldi the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for September for the eleventh consecutive month, while Aldi has also been crowned Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) Fruit & Veg Retailer of the Year
The latest analysis from consumer champion Which? has once again named Aldi the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket for September 2026 and, alongside this, Aldi has been awarded FPC Fruit & Veg Retailer of the Year, marking a double win for the supermarket.

The findings show that the price gap between Aldi and its competitors continues to widen, with shoppers saving more than £330 so far this year by choosing Aldi over rival supermarkets.
According to Which?, a basket of 93 items at Aldi cost just £159.48, saving shoppers up to £28.23 compared to Tesco, £29.47 compared to Sainsbury’s, £33.45 compared to Morrisons (even with loyalty discounts applied) and £63.90 compared to Waitrose. The FPC Fruit & Veg Retailer of the Year award further recognises Aldi’s commitment to delivering high-quality fresh produce at unbeatable prices.
With autumn bringing increased pressure from household energy bills, alongside spending on family activities, children’s hobbies, social occasions and preparations for Christmas, Aldi is reminding consumers that cutting costs doesn’t have to mean sacrificing life’s everyday pleasures.
