A pervert has admitted to having sex with a horse at a riding school in the middle of the night. Aaron Maybank accessed the Bradbourne Riding and Driving Centre in Sevenoaks to “engage in concerning behaviour”.

The 35-year-old claimed in court he was drunk and high on drugs when he carried out the act of bestiality. His sick actions came to light after staff suspected something untoward was happening to their animals.

They set up CCTV cameras and were horrified to see one of their ponies violated by Maybank. Police later arrested and charged him with sexual penetration by a person with a living animal.

Maybank, of Snodland, admitted the offence when he appeared before magistrates in Sevenoaks on October 13. They heard the incident happened on July 5, but that he’d visited the stables on at least three previous occasions.

Prosecutor Roisin Massey said: “CCTV cameras were put up in the stables because it was suspected something was going on. For three months, he’s engaged in concerning behaviour and went [there] on April 9, May 14 and June 15.

“Then on July 5, it worsened, and he had sexual activity [with a male pony]. It was captured on CCTV, and forensics found human semen on the horse and tested it – it was the defendant’s.”

Andrew Main, defending, said the case should be adjourned to allow a pre-sentencing report to be compiled. He explained that Maybank had suffered trauma following several bereavements in quick succession.

He said: “He turned to drink and cannabis and he’s got ADHD and acts impulsively. He doesn’t know why he did what he did.”

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the case to allow time for an all-options pre-sentencing report. The chairman of the bench said: “We will keep the case here [for now], but it can be committed for sentencing at crown court if necessary.”

Maybank was bailed to return to Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on January 7 to learn his fate.

It comes after a solicitor was charged with bestiality after his wife allegedly found footage of him mistreating their pet dog, the Daily Star previously reported.

Steven Swain, 56, was facing a serious bestiality charge linked to an incident in November 2025. The investigation into Swain, who is the head of The Swain Law Firm and has been practising as a lawyer in Houston since 1997, began in May when his wife lodged a complaint against him with the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

He has since been released from jail on a bond of $75,000.
