Welsh rugby player Jack Davies, 24, has died with tributes pouring in from his club and fans mourning the “devastating loss” of the young talent
Welsh rugby player Jack Davies has died suddenly at the age of just 24, sparking a wave of tributes. The heartbreaking news was announced by his club side, Super Rygbi Cymru outfit RGC, and the Welsh Rugby Union.
In an official statement, the Welsh Rugby Union said: “The Welsh Rugby Union is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of RGC player Jack Davies.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Jack’s family, friends, team-mates and everyone at RGC at this incredibly difficult time.” Davies began his journey with Clwb Rygbi Caernarfon at the age of 12, having demonstrated considerable potential as a young sportsman.

He worked his way through numerous teams before becoming part of the RGC pathway.
Davies subsequently relocated to Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he studied Physical Education and Sport for three years, before heading back to Caernarfon and RGC and rejoining their senior squads in 2023.
In a heartfelt tribute, RGC said: “He was a key part of the RGC and CR Caernarfon family and his death is a devastating loss for everyone associated with both clubs.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, team-mates and everyone who knew him during this difficult time.”
Super Rygbi Cymru also paid tribute to the second row, stating: “Super Rygbi Cymru is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of RGC player Jack Davies.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Jack’s family, friends, team-mates and everyone at RGC at this incredibly difficult time. The entire Super Rygbi Cymru community stands together in grief and support, and we send you strength and support.”
Fans also paid tribute online. One poster wrote on X: “This is heartbreaking! Sleep Tight Jack #ForeverYoung xx.” Another said: “Such terrible news my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
A third fan added: “Deeply sad news. Rest in peace.”
