A stunning new photograph of Prince William and Princess Kate has highlighted one stark contrast when compared to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Prince and Princess of Wales released an image of themselves in glamorous attire ahead of a State Banquet hosted for the Sultan of Oman on Tuesday, October 20.
The black-and-white portrait captures the couple in formal dress, with Kate wearing a tiara and William showcasing his medals.
Sharp-eyed Royal watchers have identified the photo was taken at Frogmore House, a Royal residence near Windsor Castle, where the banquet took place. However, since William and Catherine also reside on the same estate, they evidently made a short journey from their home to the venue specifically to pose for the photograph.
This was carried out in a bid to safeguard the privacy of their family residence, Forest Lodge, Woman&Home reports. The couple have consistently avoided sharing the internal details of their home, choosing to maintain it as a private retreat away from public scrutiny.
And this strategy differs markedly from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s approach when it comes to offering fans a peek behind closed doors. Just weeks after the Sussexes relocated back to the UK following a six-year period in Montecito, California, Meghan posted a video showing the family adapting to life at home, reports the Express.
The compilation, shared on Instagram on September 13, featured the family enjoying the countryside with their pet dog, while Harry was captured on a boat fishing with the children on a pond. The footage begins with Meghan and Harry walking together holding hands, before the Duchess turns playfully towards the camera, exclaiming “come on, you”.
One heartwarming moment seems to capture Lilibet riding her bike with a toy doll secured in the baby seat as Archie dashes past her, while another scene appears to show one of the youngsters warming their toes beside the fireplace. A Union Flag emoji alongside a heart emoji is displayed across the collection of clips.
Meghan has previously posted footage of herself cooking alongside Lilibet as part of promotional material for her As Ever brand.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales’ children regularly feature in photos and footage, George, Charlotte, and Louis are usually seen at formal Royal occasions rather than in domestic settings. The striking contrast emerges as Harry revealed during an interview that he wishes to repair relations with his family, though acknowledged ‘some people don’t want it to work out’.
It’s understood tensions have developed between Harry, Charles, and William, though a representative for the Duke clarified the comment was broad in nature and ‘absolutely not intended as a swipe’ at his father or brother.
