Prince Harry will not get his wish to “reconcile” with his brother as William has “no intention of engaging with him”, it is claimed. The Duke of Sussex said he wanted to patch up his relationship with senior royals, but said “some people don’t want to work it out.”
And now it has emerged that there “isn’t a world right now” where William can imagine the siblings repairing their relationship after Harry repeatedly made bombshell allegations about the Royal Family in books and tv appearance.
A source close to Wills said: “He remains deeply hurt over the many things the Duke of Sussex has said publicly about him and other family members.”
Speaking in his first interview since returning to the UK, Harry told GQ: “I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile — that’s the key point. Scars stick around forever.
“But what your perception is, and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, letting go of the past. That’s something that I would encourage everybody to do,
“If there’s certain things from the past that are still affecting you every day, that’s harder to let go of. But, for me, there’s enough drama in the world and enough drama in people’s lives to continue with issues with family.”
The sit-down interview with was recorded in late September but only released on Tuesday, the day senior royals welcomed the Sultan of Oman to a state visit at Windsor Castle.
But sources claim the Royal Family are “incredibly cautious” about engaging with Harry after the Sussexes’ took part in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey and produce a documentary series on Netflix where they bemoaned their treatment by the institution.
A source close to William told the Mirror: “Harry was advised in no uncertain terms to cease making public statements about issues which are deeply private. The way things are right now, he (William) has no intention of engaging with Harry.
“Look at what the family is doing just this week: a significantly important State Visit, commemorating the tragedy that occurred in Aberfan 60 years ago, and preparations being made for major royal tours in the immediate future. He has no intention of engaging with Harry.
“This is what matters to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the King and Queen – and that certainly doesn’t include responding to the Duke of Sussex every time he pops up doing yet another interview.”
