Uber Eats has unveiled a ‘world-first’ 26-stop tasting menu for runners – with the first 100 finishers winning more than £250 each. Some of London’s leading grassroots run clubs have helped launch the unusual event by ditching personal bests for pizza, gyoza, artisanal pastries and green juices.

The route was mapped with running community icon Charlie Dark MBE, who founded the alternative running movement Run Dem Crew in 2023. Each stop has been selected to showcase London’s food scene, including mainstays such as Wagamama, Pizza Pilgrims, Joe & The Juice and Gail’s.

Independent favourites are also included on the route, such as fried chicken chain Coqfighter, Asian restaurant Murger Han and deli favourites Sandwich Sandwich. The route is 7.2 miles long and is said to be designed to be walked, jogged, or sprinted.

The first 100 people to complete the full route and tag their Strava activity to @UberEats_UK on Instagram will unlock £262 in Uber Eats credit to fuel their recovery.

Charlie Dark said: “Running has never just been about putting one foot in front of the other because it’s about culture, discovery, and seeing your city through a different lens. The Morsel Marathon takes that ethos and dials it up to eleven.

“We’ve built a route that celebrates street culture, brings people together and proves the best way to explore London is with a pair of running shoes and an appetite.”

The Morsel Marathon aims to help feed Londoners in need too, with Uber Eats partnering with food redistribution charity, City Harvest to donate 150,000 meals. Donna Beetham, head of fundraising at City Harvest, said: “London is a city that loves food but it is also a city where too many people are struggling to access it.

“That’s why this partnership with Uber Eats matters. The donation of 150,000 meals will help City Harvest support communities across the capital at this particularly challenging time of year.

“The Morsel Marathon turns a celebration of London’s food culture into something with a much bigger impact.”
