Andorra have paid tribute to Jesus de Miguel, after his tragic death in their La Liga Segunda match with Tenerife. The two teams were playing out a 2-2 draw when Andorra shot-stopper Jesus Owono crashed into De Miguel.

The 30-year-old went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to a local hospital as Tenerife kept fans updated with his condition. And after a statement sharing his neurological condition had worsened overnight, Tenerife sadly confirmed his passing.

In a post on X, Tenerife said: “Racked with pain, with a lump in our throats and unable to believe that this is true, from CD Tenerife we communicate the tragic passing, this Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., of Jesús de Miguel Alameda.

“The family of Jesús de Miguel thanks each and every one of the expressions of support received, and likewise requests, from the heart, the utmost respect for their privacy in these terrible moments.”

Andorra have now also shared their tribute to the footballer: “With broken hearts and devastated, we want to send our most sincere condolences to the family of Jesús de Miguel, to all his teammates, friends, and to CD Tenerife. Rest in peace.”
