Amazon Prime Sport presenter Gabby Logan was forced to apologise after Bruno Fernandes dropped an f-bomb during his post-match interview after Manchester United’s incredible comeback win over Roma. The United captain started the comeback by scoring a penalty in the 3-2 win.

United won their first game in 10 attempts as a second-half comeback for the ages cancelled out Roma taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening 17 minutes of the Champions League clash.

Matias Soule and Donyell Malen found the back of the net to put Roma on their way to what looked sure to be a victory which would put the final nail in the coffin of Michael Carrick’s job.

But a stunning comeback, sparked by Fernandes’ penalty, which he was fortunate to retake due to an encroachment after his first effort was saved.

Matheus Cunha then scored arguably the most important goals of his career to date to turn the game on its head in the space of three minutes and put United into a lead they were able to defend.

The emotions were obvious as Cunha jumped into the stands to celebrate before he was sent off for an over-exuberant tackle minutes later. And off the pitch too, the relief was clear on United’s stars as Fernandes swore during his interview.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport, Fernandes said: “We don’t need to save anyone’s job. The club needed that win. The players needed that win. It is something we needed as a group of players and staff.

“We have been working so hard to get out of this situation together. It has been tough. There has been a lot of speculation in the media.

“A lot of lies around many things that have happened at this club, between me and the manager, like that we have cleared the air. Nothing like that happened.

“The manager took a decision of making myself on the bench because I wasn’t performing. And that’s fair. Everyone felt like that was a punishment for the words that I had [after Como]. And if it was, it was right.

“The manager makes the decisions. I have to accept it. I have to go forward with that. It doesn’t change the belief I have in the manager, the staff and every player at this club.

“And it doesn’t change my aim to win every f****** game that I have ahead of me.”

Gabby was then forced to apologise for the X-rated language after the interview was concluded.
