A real-life Stan has been arrested for stalking rapper Eminem. Disturbed mega fan Nicole Gwen Savage, 46, stopped by police on October 27 outside the star’s home in Michigan, USA.

Savage is alleged to have violated an active, pre-existing court injunction that completely banned her from contacting or approaching the Real Slim Shady singer. She was subsequently charged with felony aggravated stalking, police said.

Savage reportedly travelled to Eminem’s heavily guarded Macomb County estate. She was consequently spotted lurking outside the residence by the artist’s private security, who immediately alerted local law enforcement, who rushed to the scene.

Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, had a hit song in 2000 called “Stan”, which has later become an internet slang term for a dangerously obsessed, toxic stalker-fan.

Authorities reportedly confirmed that Savage did not manage to breach the interior of the home or make any actual physical or verbal contact with Eminem during this specific confrontation. She was formally arraigned at the 41B District Court on October 28.

Due to the gravity of the case, the magistrate imposed remarkably strict bail conditions, Macomb Daily reported.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said: “Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home and go about their daily lives without fear of being harassed or stalked. No one is exempt from these protections, regardless of their public profile or celebrity status.”

Savage faces one count of aggravated stalking. Because she directly violated a pre-existing judicial no-contact order, the crime was automatically elevated to a heavy five-year felony, Click On Detroit reported.

The court reportedly set Savage’s bail at a massive $250,000 (£200,000) cash with no 10% payment option, forcing her to remain held in the Macomb County Jail.

If Savage somehow manages to post the quarter-million-dollar bond, she is legally required to wear a mandatory GPS tracking tether, Detroit Free Press reported. Furthermore, she is barred from carrying weapons, forbidden from leaving the state of Michigan, and under an ironclad renewal of her no-contact ban regarding Eminem.

Savage’s court-appointed defense attorney, Thomas Quartz, turned heads by publicly refusing a plea deal and pushing the case straight toward a criminal trial.

In a statement to local media, Quartz acknowledged Eminem’s universal fame in Detroit but boldly claimed: “There are always two sides to every story, and my client’s voice has yet to be heard. When it is, I truly believe the public will become a fan of hers or at the very least sympathise with her.”
