WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: Baryalai Rahimi, of Ealing, and Mirebadurahman Sadat deny raping and sexually assaulting an autistic girl on a Kent to London Bridge train
Two men allegedly raped and sexually assaulted a “vulnerable” teenage girl aboard a London-bound train. The court was told that one of the men reportedly said to her “we share everything, girls, drinks, everything”.
Baryalai Rahimi, of Orchard Avenue, Ealing, and Mirebadurahman Sadat, of Anson Road, Brent, both deny all charges brought against them relating to the alleged victim, whose identity is protected by law. The girl, who was just 14 years old at the time of the alleged attack, has autism.
Rahimi faces charges of rape, while Sadat is accused of sexual assault. They are both reported to be Afghan migrants.
Presenting the case, prosecutor Richard Witcombe told Inner London Crown Court: “The prosecution case is that both defendants, Mr Rahimi and Mr Sadat, saw [the alleged victim] as a vulnerable teenage girl on her own, and decided to take advantage of her sexually on the train from [Kent] to London Bridge.
“They both sexually assaulted her in a number of ways on the train. Rahimi took her to the train toilet twice and raped her there.”
The alleged victim informed police she had been approached by two strangers at a Kent railway station – identified by the prosecutor as Rahimi, 25, and Sadat, 29.
The prosecutor stated: “[Rahimi] was the first to ask her how old she was, and she told him she was 14. She will tell you he laughed about it and ‘He was like oh ok’.”, reports MyLondon. Rahimi began commenting on her looks and became “a bit flirty”, draping his coat over her shoulders, the court was told.
Mr Witcombe stated: “He was standing in front of her. She will tell you she was trying to effectively say no; she indicated no by giving him his coat back and he was trying to put his coat back on her.”
The prosecutor told the court that the alleged victim recalled: “I was standing up, he was putting his arms around me and he just started kissing me and stuff.” When the train pulled in, Rahimi boarded and sat beside her, while Sadat made his way to a separate carriage, CCTV revealed to the court.
Rahimi then began to touch her intimately, groping her breasts, yet she felt powerless to stop him, Mr Witcombe claimed. “She will tell you she was getting scared and if it’s going to put me at risk, I’m going to end up getting hurt,” the prosecutor said. “She felt disgusting.”
Mr Witcombe alleged that Rahimi then proceeded to rape her in the train’s toilet. The prosecutor further claimed that Rahimi persuaded her to return to the toilet a second time, where he raped her once more.
Upon returning to her seat, Sadat joined them, and one of the men allegedly told her that “we share everything, girls, drinks, everything”. The prosecutor said Sadat then “put her coat over her” before coercing her into touching him intimately.
Mr Witcombe urged the jury to “consider the dynamic also of Mr Rahimi and Mr Sadat being in cahoots with each other”. He added: “Almost, as it were, Mr Rahimi handing over [the alleged victim] to Sadat. It’s a dynamic of the situation you may wish to consider.”
Rahimi has entered a not guilty plea to six counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of sexual assault, one count of assault by penetration and three counts of rape.
The prosecutor revealed that Rahimi claims the alleged victim informed him she was 17 years old, allegedly describing her as “very forward” and stating she “took” his hand and directed him to touch her intimately. Rahimi denied raping her.
Sadat has likewise pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of assault by penetration and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
In a statement read aloud by the prosecutor, Sadat declared: “Although I have some memory issues, I did not do what I am accused of. I deny these offences. At this point I have nothing else to add or mention.”
The trial continues.
