Patrick Lynch has been named as the father who allegedly threw his children, just six and eight, to their deaths from a building in Pennsylvania before making the fatal jump himself
A dad allegedly killed his two kids by throwing them off a multi-storey car park, also taking his own life in the apparent murder-suicide. Police were horrified to discover the bodies an eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, along with a 42-year-old man.
Emergency services were called to a garage in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday afternoon. Police confirmed the father and two children suffered similar blunt force injuries. They have been named locally as Caroline Lynch, six, her brother James, eight, and their dad Patrick Lynch.
Police have since confirmed the man was the father of the two children. Allegheny County Police Department said in a statement: “At 4:16pm on [Tuesday, November 3], County 9-1-1 was notified of three people unresponsive on Municipal Way.
“When first responders arrived on scene, they found an adult male and two children suffering injuries from an apparent fall. First responders attempted life saving measures until medical professionals pronounced the three deceased on scene.
“Detectives are initiating the investigation. Detectives from Mt. Lebanon Police and Allegheny County Police learned the adult male is the father of the two children.”
The statement went on: “Preliminary information suggests that this incident is a murder-suicide and there is no danger to the community. The identities of the adult male and two children will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
“Law Enforcement encourages anyone suffering from mental health issues to seek assistance from a mental health professional.”
It’s believed Patrick worked in AI technology. Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident, which happened next to a garage behind the Mt Lebanon town hall.
