Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich until 2029, making him Europe’s highest-paid player by salary
Harry Kane has ended speculation about his future by signing a new lucrative contract with Bayern Munich. Kane, who won the Ballon d’Or, has prolonged his agreement with the German powerhouses until 2029 on record-breaking money.
The arrangement is understood to make Kane, 33, Europe’s best-paid footballer by salary. The England skipper’s current contract was set to run out at the conclusion of this campaign.
Barcelona expressed interest in acquiring Kane while previous club Tottenham held first option. However, the forward and his family have settled in Munich, leading him to pledge his long-term future to the Bundesliga title holders.

After putting pen to paper on his fresh deal, Kane said: “I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager.
“It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
Since Bayern shelled out £86million to bring Kane from Spurs in 2023, he’s secured five pieces of silverware, including two championship crowns. The 33-year-old has also netted a staggering 156 goals in merely 161 matches while also providing 40 assists to re-establish Bayern amongst Europe’s elite sides.
Bayern’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, commented: “We’re delighted to have successfully extended Harry Kane’s contract. This is fantastic news for us, for our fans and for the Bundesliga.
“The Ballon d’Or winner is staying at Bayern Munich! Since joining us in 2023, he has achieved extraordinary things with his goals, his influence on the game and as a role model both on and off the pitch.
“He has long since made FC Bayern his home, has continued to develop with us and crowned that development with the Ballon d’Or. His contract extension is a commitment to FC Bayern and to a story that is far from over.”
The Bavarian giants travel to Mainz on Saturday for their last fixture prior to the international break, after which Kane will join up with the England squad for a pair of Nations League clashes against Croatia and Spain.
