Kim Jong-un’s fiery sister snubs Donald Trump as summit hopes torpedoed

Trigger-happy North Korea has unleashed another volley of missiles into the sea while delivering a savage slap in the face to Donald Trump. Dictator Kim Jong-un’s fearsome sister, Kim Yo-jong, brutally shut down any chance of a peace summit between the pair just hours after the Hermit Kingdom fired off fresh rockets from its eastern coast.

The drill marks Pyongyang’s fourth provocative launch in four weeks, taking their 2026 tally to 16 ballistic tests – easily eclipsing the six fired in 2025 and 12 in 2024.

Reports suggest the US had been quietly attempting backchannel diplomacy through Pyongyang’s United Nations mission in New York to engineer a sit-down at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China.

Trump famously hit it off with his despotic “friend” during historic meetings in Singapore, Hanoi and the Demilitarised Zone during his first term.

But the tyrant’s sister, who serves as vice department director of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea, made sure any hopes of a fresh bromance were well and truly dead.

Fuming over joint US-South Korean war games and ongoing sanctions, the regime’s de facto chief mouthpiece ripped into the “unreasonable” Americans in her second blistering public statement in 48 hours.

She warned that Pyongyang had “no need to sit face-to-face” with warmongers “who refuse to abandon their policy of confrontation while talking about dialogue” and “prefer war drills and strengthening of military alliance to peace”.

The fiery spin doctor conceded that the “choice for peace includes dialogue”, but firmly shut the door until Washington scraps its relentless push for total denuclearisation.

According to South Korean intelligence estimates, Pyongyang could be sitting on an arsenal of up to 120 nuclear warheads, though Trump previously played down the threat, insisting the US stockpile of 5,042 nukes is far “larger”.

The sudden freeze in relations also comes amid furious denials from the regime over claims they carried out the biggest cyber-heist in history.

After the FBI blamed shadowy North Korean state hackers for looting a staggering $6.3bn (£4.7bn) from crypto exchange Binance, the despot’s sister hit the roof.

She branded the hack allegations a “grave political provocation” and “absurd rhetoric”, lashing out at Washington for running a “malicious attempt to get a political and strategic profit”.
